Board of Mayor & Aldermen
Kimball is governed by a Board of Mayor and Aldermen. Each member is elected to a four-year term, unless special circumstances arise to require an appointment to fulfill a remaining term. Currently, all board member positions are part-time. The Town of Kimball Board of Mayor and Aldermen meet in the town meeting room on the first Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. unless otherwise advertised. >Board of Mayor & Aldermen Meeting Dates

Alderman Mark Payne

Alderman John Matthews

  • Appointed Alderman September 4, 2014
  • Married to Debbie Steele Matthews for 34 years.  They have two children, Lynsi Hatef (Dan), Tres Matthews and one grandson, Levi.

  • Active member of Kimball Baptist Church
  • Middle Tennessee State University, Bachelor of Business Administration, 1978
  • Hobbies include spending time with family, golf, and college football

Commission Bylaws

The planning commission is appointed by the Kimball Board of Mayor and Aldermen and consists of a total of seven (7) members; two (2) members of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen; the other five (5) members are citizens within the town. The board consists of the follow members:

Chairman - Mark O’Leary
Vice Chairman - Jerry Don Case
Secretary - Margaret King
Member - James Totton
Member - Dean Pesnell
Member - Lamarr Manis
Member - Rex Pesnell

The planning commission normally meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. The planning commission reviews site plans and subdivision plats.

Board of Zoning Appeals

The zoning appeals board is appointed by the Kimball Board of Mayor and Aldermen and consists of a total of five (5) members which are citizens within the town. The board consists of the follow members:

Secretary - Scott Hawkins
Member - Rodger Ford
Member -Jerry Don Kennemore
Member - Butch Maynor

The zoning board only meets when necessary. The board reviews zoning appeals by those within the town that do not comply with the current regulations. And they address any changes made to the zoning map.

Parks & Recreation Board

The park and recreation board is appointed by the Kimball Board of Mayor and Aldermen and consists of six (6) members which are citizens within the town and one (1) member of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen. The board consists of the follow members:

Vice-Chairman - John "Jack" Keef
Secretary - Teresa Childs
Member - Eric Turney
Member - Mark O'Leary
Member - Eddie Tipton
Member -John Matthews

The park and recreation board meets on the second Thursday of each month. The board reviews park and recreation items and makes recommendations as it deems necessary to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.

Beautification Committee

The committee has completed the work at the Town of Kimball sign at Glover’s Hill. The committee and town employees have worked on the front of town hall with some shrubbery, flowers, mulch and decorative border. This committee has been working with Brenda King, with Wal-Mart Supercenter. Wal-Mart has incorporated a PSP Program that promotes giving back to the community. Keep your eyes appealed for the work by the Committee.

The Beautification Committee meets as needed.
